Dr. Verghese travels every year to remote locations in Northeast India, the border of China and India, Myanmar, the slums of Kolkata, Bangladesh, Mumbai and other regions where people suffer from starvation, malnutrition, homelessness and numerous diseases. These maladies include mosquito-borne illnesses such as Zika, Dengue, Malaria, West Nile Virus, Chikungunya, Filariasis and a long list of others.
While in India, Dr. Verghese and his team ministered physically through humanitarian service, distribution of Integrative Coronavirus Defense(ICD) and spiritually through spreading the Word of God, to refugees who had lost hope of survival and never been to a doctor.
As you can see in these pictures, they make their roofs out of blue waterproof tarps and bamboo and palm leaves. Their toilets are 1-foot holes in the ground and with frequent rain, they overflow to every area the refugees live. More about Medical Camp.
